BlogTemplate_LoveBlooms

I am excited to announce a new blog series with a Vendor Feature on another one of my favorite Seattle & Tacoma based Florist, Love Blooms Wedding & Event Design!  Over the next few months I will be featuring all types of different wedding vendors showcasing who they are, what they offer and how fabulous they are!

Love Blooms Wedding & Event Design is run by a wonderful lady named Katrina.  I had the opportunity to meet Katrina through a mutual friend and collaborate on a inspirational shoot and have since worked a few more weddings with her and she is amazing!  Check out an interview with her below and some photos from times we have worked together.

How long have you been in business?

6 years

Where are you located?

Issaquah, WA

How did your business get started?

When I was in college I had to do various odd and end jobs to support myself and through that I realized that I loved being an entrepreneur. So, I wanted to start a business but being a poor college student I didn’t want to start something with high start up cost and I was enjoying planning my wedding so I decided to become a wedding planner. Then 3 years into wedding planning I had a client ask me to put floral arrangements together and I loved it! So I decided to offer floral and design as well!

Who is your ideal client?

A creative unique bride or groom that isn’t afraid of thinking outside of the norm but in an elegant way. Also a client that lets me have creative freedom to just be an artist and create beauty!

Describe the process of what it looks like to work with you.

We have the initial consultation at a coffee shop, then I send a contract for review. Once it is signed and the deposit is paid I am available via phone or email at any point in the planning process to answer any questions or give help. Up until 3 weeks before the wedding any changes can be made to the order.  Three weeks before the wedding the final order needs to be placed. Then the day of the wedding my team delivers and sets up all of the flowers for the wedding insuring the client’s vision comes true.

What’s the biggest trend you are seeing in wedding decor (or wedding flowers)?

Geometric is very popular this year! Farm tables, eucalyptus garlands, lots of blush color scheme.

What do you tell brides trying to save money by having a friend do their flowers?

Although their heart is in the right place they aren’t a professional and if something doesn’t go right that might affect their friendship. Also, their friend will not enjoy their wedding at all. They will be working the entire time instead of having fun.

What is your favorite part of your business?

Being able to design and create beautiful weddings and events. Trying new things and seeing them turn out exactly how the client and I envisioned. Thinking under pressure and problem solving.

What makes your services unique?

The fact that I offer both floral and wedding coordinating/planning services. I also have in house rentals so the client can accomplish their entire vision through me instead of having to piece it together.

Who are some of your favorite vendors?

I mean obviously I love working with you but I feel like saying that would be cheesy.. so.. Seattle Farm tables, I love the  look of the tables instead of basic tables with linens. I love Caricatures by Lou, it is such a fun thing for guests to enjoy.  Street Treats is so yummy and guests love it!

Where do you see your business going in the next 5 years?

I would love to get more involved with corporate planning and floral. I would also love to grow the specialty rentals part of my business. I would love to have a lot of unique pieces to offer to my clients.
